Ion Josan is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. He holds a B.A in contemporary History at the same University.  His interests are related to political ideologies, the relationship between politics and religions in the contemporary World, the state of religion in Modernity. In the last two years he has studied the development of political Islam, taking a closer look to Shi’ia Islam and the Iranian Revolution. In his current Doctoral thesis he explores how the messianic component of the Abrahamic traditions has influenced the contemporary political culture of the U.S, Israel and Iran.
